information and documentation center METU,
Faculty of Architecture Unit for Information and Documentation is an
academic unit that aims at providing a milieu of archiving materials
from the disciplines of architecture, city and regional planning and
industrial design for education, scholarly research and publication.
Established in the early 1960s, the unit today has about 80000 slides,
1200 Doctoral and Graduate Theses, selected reference books and
journals, student works and projects, and other visual materials
available for the use of students, faculty and the visitors. In coping
with recent developments concerning architectural archives, since 2004
some projects have been initialized to digitalize the collection for a
world-wide online accessibility and also to improve the infrastructural
renovations for the betterment of physical facilities. Two sub-units, Maps and Plans Documentation Unit and Cultural Properties Archive Unit, have also been established for archiving special documentary materials.
